Community Guidelines

Effective Date: November 18, 2024

The following applies to anyone using The Realm® Online and its associated services — including the game, website, Discord, and Facebook. While using any TRO service, you must respect the rights of others. TRO Staff will investigate suspected violations and apply remedies at their sole discretion, up to and including suspension or termination of access. TRO reserves the right to change these policies at any time without notice. The Realm® is a registered trademark.

Inappropriate Behavior

Inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated on any TRO official service, including but not limited to character names, guild/clan names, nicknames, links to external sources, or any dialogue that is:

  • Obscene, vulgar, abusive, hateful, racist, defamatory, threatening, pornographic, or sexually oriented
  • Referring to inappropriate parts of the human body, bodily functions, illnesses, or diseases
  • Referring to drugs or illegal activities (including links to illegal downloads or copyrighted material)
  • Related to political regimes or personalities involved in or suspected of human rights violations
  • Promoting violence or hatred based on ethnicity, race, nationality, or sexual orientation
  • Derogatory toward religious figures or organizations, or promoting religious intolerance
  • Violating the intellectual or industrial property rights of a third party, including trademarks
  • Excessively communicating phrases indiscriminately (spamming)
  • Promoting or engaging in disruptive behavior that purposefully interferes with others’ enjoyment of the services
  • Malicious, misleading, or excessively harsh messages about TRO services or staff
  • Alternate spellings or substitutes intended to bypass the above guidelines

These guidelines apply to all public and private chat channels on all TRO services, including direct messages. Failure to comply with staff instructions is a violation of these guidelines. If you have concerns about staff conduct, contact cs@realmserver.com.

Harassment, Violence & Threats

The Realm® Online does not condone harassment in any form. Prohibited conduct includes:

  • Links, media, or other content with malicious intent
  • Threatening or embarrassing another player to cause distress, unwanted attention, or discomfort
  • Personal attacks based on ethnicity, religion, gender, lifestyle choice, national origin, race, or physical or mental disability
  • Unwanted sexual advances or solicitations

To ignore a player for the current session, type /ignore <name>. To permanently ignore a player, type /pignore <name>.

Privacy & Impersonation

Personal or confidential information may not be collected, used, or disclosed without explicit consent from all parties involved. This includes private messages and screenshots.

Impersonating any member, person, or character of The Realm® (past or present) is strictly prohibited.

Note: In-game staff will never ask for your real-life confidential information or passwords.

Botting, Exploiting & Hacking

The use of third-party software or hardware to perform in-game actions or alter game components is strictly prohibited. This includes macros, automation programs, or any tools that facilitate gameplay unfairly. Prohibited actions also include:

  • Duplicating items or currency
  • Exploiting bugs, design flaws, or undocumented features
  • Attempting unauthorized access to software, hardware, or confidential information related to TRO services

Players must report bugs or errors to TRO staff immediately to prevent destabilization of the game economy.

Selling, Buying & Solicitation

The unauthorized sale or purchase of game items, accounts, or currency for real-world monetary value is prohibited. Accounts found in violation are subject to termination.

Soliciting outside products or services while using TRO services is also prohibited.

Loss of items or in-game currency due to normal game mechanics — including trades, scams, dropping, dying, destruction, or selling — will not be reimbursed.

Storyline & Game Events

Participation in storyline and game events is voluntary. Engaging in actions that negatively impact these events will result in a warning, followed by jail time for the event’s duration.

Note: “Roleplaying” is not an excuse for violating these guidelines. Actions violating general guidelines may result in additional disciplinary measures, including suspension or termination of TRO services access.
